چکیده

For a graph property P, we define a P-matching as a set M of disjoint edges such that the subgraph induced by the vertices incident to M has property P. Previous examples include strong/induced matchings and uniquely restricted matchings. We explore the general properties of P-matchings, but especially the cases where P is the property of being acyclic or the property of being disconnected. We consider bounds on and the complexity of the maximum cardinality of a P-matching and the minimum cardinality of a maximal P-matching.

Triangle-free graphs with uniquely restricted maximum matchings and their corresponding greedoids

A matchingM is uniquely restricted in a graph G if its saturated vertices induce a subgraph which has a unique perfect matching, namely M itself [M.C. Golumbic, T. Hirst, M. Matchings Defined by Local Conditions

A graph has the neighbour-closed-co-neighbour, or ncc property, if for each of its vertices x, the subgraph induced by the neighbour set of x is isomorphic to the subgraph induced by the closed non-neighbour set of x. Graphs with the ncc property were characterized in [1] by the existence of a locally C4 perfect matching M : every two edges of M induce a subgraph isomorphic to C4. In the presen...

Perfect Matchings in Edge-Transitive Graphs

We find recursive formulae for the number of perfect matchings in a graph G by splitting G into subgraphs H and Q. We use these formulas to count perfect matching of P hypercube Qn. We also apply our formulas to prove that the number of perfect matching in an edge-transitive graph is , where denotes the number of perfect matchings in G, is the graph constructed from by deleting edges with an en...

Restricted t-matchings in bipartite graphs

Given a simple bipartite graph G and an integer t ≥ 2, we derive a formula for the maximum number of edges in a subgraph H of G so that H contains no node of degree larger than t and H contains no complete bipartite graph Kt,t as a subgraph. In the special case t = 2 this fomula was proved earlier by Z. Király [6], sharpening a result of D. Hartvigsen [4]. For any integer t ≥ 2, we also determi...

Perfect Matchings of Cellular Graphs

We introduce a family of graphs, called cellular, and consider the problem of enumerating their perfect matchings. We prove that the number of perfect matchings of a cellular graph equals a power of 2 tiroes the number of perfect matchings of a certain subgraph, called the core of the graph. This yields, as a special case, a new proof of the fact that the Aztec diamond graph of order n introduc...
